Previous Minutes

The minutes of the meeting of 2 September 2015 were distributed to the Committee and confirmed as a true and correct record.

Actions Arising from Previous Minutes

·           Gail to write a letter to Denise Simmons regarding her stand down from the Seddon Shield for 2 years needs to be actioned and delivered

·           Gail to write letter to Brent Simmons – officially  warning him that his behavior has been unacceptable

·           Bob to obtain quotes in writing for trophies from Badges & Medals.  All quotes must be in writing

·           Re Seddon Shield:
Judyne: was very pleased with the ladies team and would like to put her hand up for selector in 2016

Bob: said the Men’s Team was well behaved, relaxed and supportive

Nicole: was very disappointed with the lack of help in setting up the tables and at the end of the tournament

Bob: the food catered by the Clubs of Marlborough was awful.  For the cost of $720.00 worked out to be 10 platters at $72.00 each.  It was a shame that all the food came out at once, which meant the people still playing missed out as the food was eaten by the people that had finished their games.  The lamingtons were cut in half and yet charged at full price

Raffles: there are still 100 tickets to be sold, there is a ham at the Royal and Lyn Bowman’s blanket needs to be drawn.

Correspondence

·           Nicole has a letter from Denise asking about winnings of a tournament earlier in the year.  The amount given out was miss calculated and therefore $5.00 is to given to both Denise Simmons and Kimmy Macdonald

Financial Report

·         Balance cheque book as at 22 July 2015                              $

·         Bob is to write a letter to the Clubs in relation to the food which and the account which was not written up correctly and needs to be written.  As the food was embarrassing to the MPA the account is to be negotiated down

General Business

·           Player of the year for the most improved:

Ø  Judyne nominated for the women: Sandra Eden

Ø  Bob nominated for the men: Richard Budny

·         Bob would like to see the Blind Pairs being held on the 17^th October to start at 2pm, registration from 1.30pm.  This last tournament for the year should go through to about 5pm from there continue into the night for the MPA end of year breakup BBQ at the Royal Hotel
