Previous Minutes

The minutes of the meeting of 6 January 2015 were distributed to the Committee and confirmed as a true and correct record.

Actions Arising from Previous Minutes

  • Lyn’s Blanket to be drawn in the next couple of weeks. Then the Ham will be raffled – 100 tickets at $2.00 p/ticket

  • Mike Budny spoke to Paul (COM) about the invoice they gave us for the food at the Nelson - Marlborough Tournament. Mike Budny asked for reduction in the cost. Paul will look at it and get back to Mike Budny

  • Nicole Chauval contacted the Companies Office about the missing paperwork for the financial breakdown. They received it at the same time of their reminder.

General Business

  • Judyne Heissenbuttel entered her Nomination as Women’s Selector and Peter Chandler for Men’s Selector

  • Events Manager role to be broken down into the following Officers:
    • Publicity Officer
    • Trophies Officer – (Max Barratt would like to consider this role)
    • Sponsorship Officer
  • Mike Budny is searching for sponsors to cover Posters and Tee-Shirts

  • The Crow Tavern in Picton is trying to get a team together

  • No Remits have been received yet

  • Judyne Heissenbuttel has organized a Drawn Pairs Open Tournament at the Clubs of Marlborough (COM) 19th March, $5.00 entry fee, registration 9 – 9.30am

  • A Remit needs to be put in to remove the word “The” from the MPA’s registered name with the Companies Office

  • Remit to add to 7.3.2 to clarify the costs incurred for calling a Special General Meeting.

  • MPA will now be paying winners of tournaments by bank transfer. If a player wins a prize they are to provide their banking details so funds can be transferred into their account. This will prevent cheques going missing and give a record of winners

  • In 2015 the Child Cancer Society should have received $100.00 for auditing the 2014 accounts, The will be paid $200.00 after doing this year’s accounts

  • Pete Chandler, Captain of the Predators, has requested dispensation for playing with three of his original players. This was passed by Committee.

  • Pete Chandler also wants to change the name of the Predators to the Phoenix
