Previous Minutes

The minutes of the meeting of 3 February 2016 were distributed to the Committee and confirmed as a true and correct record.

Actions Arising from Previous Minutes

  • Mike Budny has so far been unsuccessful in raising sponsorship, he will continue to find sponsors

  • The Crow Tavern are not putting a team in this year

  • Lyn’s Blanket more tickets have been sold will be drawn soon. The Ham’s still to be raffled – 100 tickets at $2.00 p/ticket

  • There are three other positions to be filled as follows:

Publicity Officer          Steve Whibley has put his hand up for this role

Trophies Officer          Max Barratt will continue from last year

Sponsorship Officer    Mike Budny to take on this role

  • Nicole Chauval to generate invoices for each of the teams at $100.00 per team. Nicole will forward these to Gail Perano so she can send to the Captains

Bank Statement was not available and there are no further transactions from the last meeting

General Business

  • The minutes from AGM held on the 23rd February 2016 where distributed to all Committee members present

  • Matters arising from the AGM:

Tournament winnings will have 2 formats depending on how many people have entered. Gail Perano will make the calculations for this and forward to Mike Van Loon to put onto the website.

The Ranking list has a purpose; it is a tool for the selectors to help with selecting the rep teams. The Committee agreed to keep the Ranking List

Greg Croudis is the new Head Umpire with Celia Bason being an assistant to the role

Add to the General Rules: If a trophy is damaged by the winning player while it is in their care, they will be responsible for any repairs

Add to the General Rules: If on a tournament day and less than 4 people turn up to play, the tournament will be cancelled. If only 4 people want to play they are notified that the format is Semi Final and Final rounds. The players have 2 choices; to withdraw (with no penalty) or find a fifth player for a Round Robin competition.

Mike Budny to talk to Bob Henderson about the $50.00 sponsorship from Backpackers

  • Eight “A” grade teams have already registered, this leaves Pelorus Jacks and Pelorus Sharks. Gail Perano to contact the two Captains to confirm they are registering their teams for 2016.

  • Gail Perano will lodge the Remits from the AGM with the NZ Companies Office

  • The Crow Tavern is not putting in a team but possibly Mikey’s Bar will registered a team

  • A delegat from each venue will be given the details of each Committee meeting so that they can attend if they choose to.

    • Peter Chandler is running an A/B tournament in the first 2 weeks of May. Further details to come.

    • Judyne Heissenbuttel has declined being Ladies Selector due to health reasons. Committee agreed to ask Celia Bason if she would like to take on the role. Gail Perano will ask her if she is interested.

    • It was suggested that our end of year function be held in a hall with a cabaret or some other theme/entertainment
