• Mike Van Loon received email: With the Champion of Champions tournament withdrawn, Lauchie would like to see another game with different rules replace it.
  The committee discussed the proposal and rejected it

General Business

• AGM minutes were presented to committee and was agreed by all committee members

• The final team count registered to play in 2017 are:
  • Division 1 – 10 teams
  • Division 2 – 6 teams

With division 2 only having 6 teams the committee needed to decide how the two sections would be played. After discussing several options it was decided to stay the same as last year – start both divisions on the same day. As the 2^nd division has fewer players they have a couple of weeks break and then start the second round the same time as 1^st division

Was agreed that Interclub will start on Tuesday 2^nd May 2017

• Women’s Rep practice dates are: 17^th May, 24^th May, 31^st May and 7^th June
  
  
• Men’s Rep practice starts 6^th April then other tournament dates are
  • 3^rd JuneA’s and B’s
  • 29^th AprilMen’s and Women’s Singles (Open)

(Registration at Clubs of Marlborough)

• To ensure we are playing tournaments at our supporting Venues it has been decided to play tournaments’ alternatively at these venues. If a competition has a large number of registered players the COM will be available take the extra games
  
  
• Nelson Marlborough tournament has been confirmed as the 10^th June 2017, play starts at 9am sharp
  
  
• Further discussions on how to grow the MPA.

It was suggested that each team in both divisions bring in one new person each year. This idea had its flaws about how to play that new player when you have your team structured and already with one or two reserves

• More promotion is required
  eg: Hold at Clubs of Marlborough on Friday night “POOL for B grade and newbies” this type of things needs posters and promotion – to be discussed further at next meeting
